Cheekier than a monkey with 8 asses

cheeky monkey

Well this just something that I was thinking about rather strangely. I went to bed last night and thought I’m going to write an article about being cheeky. A bit of an odd thing to think of I must admit. All through my academic life my reports have reffered to me as being “cheeky at times”. This is something which I am proud of.

A misconception which I think people have of being cheeky is the need to be rude. To be cheeky one doesn’t really have to be rude. A way of saying a cheeky remark with a sense of wit and comedic value makes the remark harmless. I believe being a cheeky person is great. It can often lighten the mood and can’t make you seem friendly and open. Some people seem to take this the wrong way though.

When I think of cheekiness I think of a witty and funny person. That is what I consider to be the difference between rudeness and cheekiness. The person you are being cheeky too should also find it amusing - my teachers obviously didn’t understand me :).

So my tip for the day is to go out and be as cheeky as possible. Although if people are getting annoyed, you know your just rude :)
